I am Maayke Ruiter, my cradle stood in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. As you can tell from my country of Birth, I saw quite a bit of the world in my younger years. We moved house often and therefore my parents never allowed me to have my own dog or cat, and I think that is where my love for small animals developed.
I finished my small animal veterinary degree in april of 2007 at the University of Utrecht. After which I worked at veterinary clinics in Schagen and Amsterdam. Since june of 2009 I now work enjoy working at veterinary clinic the Wetering.
This year (2013) it is time to expand my knowledge, to do this I am taking part in a distance education Feline Medicine course of the ISFM ( international society of Feline Medicine). Hopefully I will be able to put all my new knowledge into practise as soon as possible for all my feline patients. Beside my feline interest I also teach at the Amsterdam Animal Ambulance together with Drs. Sjoerd van der Wardt. We give a first aid course there, which is compulsory for all the volunteers of the Animal Ambulance in Amsterdam.
See you soon at the clinic!
